Welcome To My Home Page - Ms. Jones Home Page

  • Welcome to my 8th Grade Social Studies Website!

There are many areas to the website that I know you will find of great value. My goal is to make the website not just a tool for me, as the teacher, to connect with parents, but also a learning tool and resource for the students.

Please feel free to contact me at kjones@nccscougar.org

The two most important places for you to visit will be:
" My Resources" =  Here you will be able to access
    • A copy of the booklet that will be handed out to each student at the beginning of each unit or chapter
    • Access to the various power points that will accompany each unit or chapter
    • Any additinal materials that may be used
"My Homework" =  Here you will be able to see what assignments are due and when. Also the dates of tests or quizzes
    A little about Ms. Jones

I attended Chester College, in the UK where I earned a BA in History and Geography. I later attended SUNY Plattsburgh and earned my MST. I was fortunate enough to do part of my student teaching at NCCS and the following year I started working here. It seems hard to believe I am now entering my 30th year as an educator. For 23 of these years I worked in the high school teaching mostly 12th grade Economics and 11th grade Regents and AP American History & Government. I was also very involved in the NCMUN program and had the privilege of taking many wonderful students on trips to NYC and Boston. Since transitioning to the middle school I have made it a point to extend to interested students the oppourtunity to participate fully the three day NCMUN conference in March.
This year will be my 7th in the middle school and I have to say the change has been wonderful. I love the energy, honesty and enthusiasm that exists in middle school students. During the first few days of school I will be sharing a power point with my students about myself and my family that is linked to below. I am very much look forward to getting to know all of my students this year:)
